when the girls and i went on our little weekend get-away, we had many an odd conversation. the one that sticks with me, and that i don't remember the resolution to, is this:

What does the "H" in "Jesus H Christ" stand for?

my excuse for not remembering is that there was wine, and cookies, and a hot tub involved. and i'll just leave it at that. ;-)

so, tell me, what does the "H" stand for? bonus points for creative use of genealogy or etymology or other "-ologies" that may or may not apply.

i thought you might be! i can't pick a winner -- they're all good in different ways.

i'd love to hear someone yell "Jesus Heinrich Christ!" but with the 'heinrich' in a nice, thick german accent. ;-)

I think it's Holy.

But Hank might work, too.

that one flows well. you have to keep in mind shouting it easily when picking names!

ok...I googled it and got this:

His middle name is Harold.....

"Our Father, who art in heaven, Harold be thy name"

I don't remember if we ever decided on an answer to that particular question. In my mind it's always been "Henry", but in recent times I've been thinking that "Hieronymus" makes a good middle name too. Or maybe Hotep.

i dont' remember either. i blame the wine. and was that the reason we drunk-dialed willow? or was that for something else entirely??

we should pose this question to Penny. i hope she finds it humorous!!
