strike two?

just picked up another new prescription for an anti-inflammatory. this week we're trying Celebrex. at $45 for 30 pills, this stuff better work!

need to research it; Dr E said i'm to have bloodwork done after 2-3 weeks on this drug. That doesn't sound positive to me.

I like Celebrex. It and Vioxx are the two most kick-butt anti-inflams on the market.

Hope it works for you, deary!

i hope it works, too! i can't keep shelling out $$$ every few days for a prescription that won't work! it's financially wasteful as i'm spending money on drugs i can't use, plus i'm now stuck with those drugs! i tried to sweet-talk the cute grrl at the pharmacy into taking them back, but she said they're not allowed. it just seems so wasteful...

must remember to ask for samples next time.

you should have let me bring you samples. i had trouble with vioxx (couldn't pee when i was taking it) but i haven't had any trouble with celebrex. problems with it are very rare...it's quite a bit safer and has fewer side effects than the other anti-inflammatories you were taking. bextra is another option if the celebrex doesn't work...it's newer than celebrex and vioxx and there's another one just now coming onto the market that's in the same class (COX-2 inhibitor), but i can't remember what the name is. hopefully the celebrex works though, and you won't have to screw with finding something else.

oh...and are you sleeping any better? if not, call the doctor back and tell him/her. and if the celebrex isn't immediately working on your pain, call him about that too. they shouldn't have a problem giving you something that'll help immediately in the short term for the pain since you have a documented, diagnosed medical condition. if the vicodin is knocking you out too badly, ask about tylenol-3 or something that's not quite as strong. or ultram. it gives me a hell of a rash, but i know a lot of people who have had really good luck with it and it doesn't have a lot of the nasty narcotic side effects (like drowsiness/dizziness/nausea).

i know, i know... i didn't think about that til after it was all over and done with. i figured he'd keep pushing the trilisate, and just cut my dose and make me work my way back up.

my sleeping has changed for some reason. i have a little trouble falling asleep, but rather than waking up a bunch overnight, i wake up early, and STAY awake. which is why i've been getting up earlier. freaky. even with going to bed at midnight, i'm still up by 7, rather than 8:30.

maybe this is how it's supposed to be? i'm having a slightly more active day, thus i'm pretty tired by the time i crash, and i wake up feeling somewhat refreshed and pretty good.

need to research it

Ask [livejournal.com profile] mactavish about Celebrex? She has RA and is on Celebrex right now.
