I am not at all surprised. Disgusted, absolutely, but not surprised. (Hey, do I get to feel morally superior here 'cause I'm married to a short man? Heh. Probably not.)
I liked that first paragraph "...like to think of America as a meritocracy..." Ha. Most of us got over THAT pipe dream ages ago. Those of us with tits, that is, or with dark skin, or.... Meritocracies only exist when all other bias has been exhausted.
I guess we can start making the same joke about plastic surgery as has been made about sex change surgery. Female to male would be the single best financial investment a woman could ever make. I guess plastic surgery might rank right up there too.
