Feb. 13th, 2003 08:35 pmi'm exhausted. working these hours, and eating dinner so very late, can't go on much longer. i feel burnout approaching.

treated myself to a manicure tonight, mostly to save my cracked nail. the damn thing split where they always do: on the side at the base. it had ripped half-way across over the course of the week, and i was able to refrain from picking at it or ripping it off. i'm so proud of myself!! normally i'll just rip them all off when the first one goes. she patched it with some sort of superglue stuff, then did an acrylic overlay, which feels very weird, like i have a band-aid on too tight. she filed my nails down to a more reasonable length (i can type again!!), and i picked a somewhat dark red polish and we put a sparkly top coat on. i figured what the hell! it's V-day tomorrow (official "eat-chocolate-for-every-meal" day), and i deserve something funky.
i'd love to do this more often, but i just can't see me spending the money.
and before i forget, Dani has inquired about OPI nail products ... i've had a couple people rave about their durability, and i tried out someone else' OPI polish two weeks ago, and it lasted longer than i am used to in terms of chiping and wearing off. the nail gal put their new Chip and Skip on, so we'll see how this works...
