mom has suddenly started getting mail at our office. yes, my office!! i'm not sure why. it's just junk mail ~ those stupid one-day seminar things ~ but still. it totally weirds me out to be sorting mail and see my mom's name.

wonder if i can call these people and kindly ask to have a deceased person removed from their mailing list?

Yes you can! I used to scan the mailing list at my dad's place of work and cross-check it against the obituaries every day for his secretary. Dead people were automatically removed.

You can get her removed from that one, but by now the list has probably been sold to ten or a hundred other places. Ask your local post office what you can do.

Call the people who sent the stuff. The files could have been messed up getting your mom's name with your addres. My husband works in marketing via direct mail, these things happen.
