The thing about these road trips is that it's easy to forget the unpleasant stuff, Driving through the mountains of WV is fine; driving through those mountains at night, in the rain and fog, at speeds higher than the conditions warrant, sharing the road mostly with semis, is not. It's disorienting to not have landmarks for reference, and so little visibility. Too much drifting, on the road and in my mind. I couldn't get spotify to connect, so I was left with Bandcamp, which was full of nothing but super-familiar songs, exactly what my brain did NOT need.

At the hotel now, outside Beckley WV. Beaver, to be precise. heh. not the worst place I've stayed, but definitely not the best. not thrilled about being able to see daylight - and the tiniest sliver of the hallway - around the doorjamb, but it's late, I'm tired, and it's paid for. I requested an accessible room since the place doesn't have an elevator, and I got an honest-to-maude handicap room! very near the door with the handicap parking space (but no auto-door-opener), lowered peep hole, roll-in shower with adjustable showerhead and a stool, roll-under sink, and space around the furniture. Not sure about the breakfast - I thought the website said "hot breakfast" but the signs say "continental breakfast" so we'll see. I think there's a Tudor's Biscuit World nearby, and I need to do proper research if I'm going to claim Biscuitville superior.
