Teh Sick. it sucks

It can't be as simple as spending two hours sitting in the bleachers cheering on the nephew's HS Football team as temps and precipitation dropped, but here we are.
I haz teh sick.
it started on Saturday and I thought, "oh, some rest and fluids will help!" but by Sunday, it was full-blown scratchy-throated coughing misery. Ears hurt. Eyes itch. throat is scratchy and I've got that nasty gagging cough that means I pretty much can NOT be without something to drink or hard candies or whatever. I spend yesterday liberally applying benadryl and Tylenol, and they sort of helped. haven't had any yet today, but soon I'll cave and collapse into bed (or the couch) and hope that sleep takes hold.
So very relieved this is my work-from-home week, so I can be a snotty coughing mess in the privacy of my own home. I don't do sick well. It makes me needy and whiny and all the things that mom could not and would not tolerate when we were kids.
All these trips south and I've stayed healthy, and now?
for kicks, I did a COVID test. it's not the plague so I suppose I'll live.
