what time is it? Tool Time!
Aug. 23rd, 2002 11:01 pmi never realized what fun a hardware store could be. really! i made two trips to my local hardware store today, and i'm coming up with excuses to make more.
my lunchtime trip scored me a wire shelf for the plasticware cupboard, picturehooks, weatherstriping for the front door, and a hanger-thingey for my ironing board and iron. i only destroyed two of the wall anchors trying to install the ironing board rack, and then determined that it probably won't hold my ironing board. I rescued a coathook from another set of hooks, and set off to get a mate for it, plus the hardware needed to properly install it. on this second trip, i also picked up a rack to hang my mop and broom, which will be mounted inside the doorway to the basement, next to the ironing board rack. tomorrow i will finish hanging everything, including the painting that's been leaning against the wall for ages now.
I feel so productive!! and i hafta say, i like the attention i get at this hardware store. no sooner than i walk in, i've got at least one man asking me if i need any help; during the day it's older, attentive and helpful men, and in the evening, it's young, attentive teenage boys. i'm not sure which i like better!!!
