Recipe: Apple Oatmeal Bread
Mar. 5th, 2008 07:24 amInspired by CJ's post about bread, i'm sharing a bread recipe that i really like.
Anne and Bill's Apple Oatmeal Bread with Raisins
from the Bread Machine Magic book of Helpful Hints
for a 1.5lb loaf in a breadmaker:
1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats
3/8 cup water
1/2 cup applesauce
2 3/4 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tbsp nonfat dry milk powder
1/3 cup raisins
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tsp active dry yeast.
for the breadmaker, you layer everything but the raisins like your machine says, and once the dough starts to get mixed up, add the raisins a few at a time. use the sweet bread setting if your machine has one.
i'm too lazy for that, plus i don't like raisins in baked goods, so i skip that part. this bread is delirously good while warm with cinnamon butter.
