i'm so nervous/anxious/excited about my impending motherhood. no, no, i'm not pregnant, but i will become a mommy to a 5yr old kitty very soon. just need to submit the paperwork, pay the deposit, and arrange his arrival.
in my pre-motherhood nervousness, i've started preparing the house for a cat (which means i'm doing my usual de-cluttering, but with a cat in mind), and tonight i went cat food and kitty litter shopping. his current mommy told me he likes "chunky" wet food, so that's what i bought him. i think i went a little nuts... he's easily got enough wet food to get him through the first month of his life here. didn't fare as well on the kitty litter. Kroger has a brand on sale buy-one-get-one-free, but two different stores were sold out. as i was heading to my third Kroger of the night, i decided that it was a bit premature, and obsessive, to be driving all over creation for kitty litter, and headed home. i'll try again tomorrow.
while i'm very excited about getting Sam, i feel like i'm taking one of Lisa's kids!! i mean, she might as well be passing off one of the human kids to me. I know Sam means a LOT to her, so i'm going to do everything i can to make the transition go well, as well as make his life here a happy one.
of course, this all reminds me of something i heard Emily say back at xmas ...

I'd say Emily's quote is very accurate. I had 3 cats for almost 15 years and now I have 2 dogs. I adore my pups...they're like my kids. But, boy, do I miss having kitties around the house. Nothing like a cat to keep you...in line. (Heh!)

Don't forget to get Sam's vet records.
