just_cydlazy day. babysat way late last night (1:30am), got home way late (2am) and went to bed even later (3am). slept til 11m which was later than i'd wanted, but reasonable considering how late i was up. Spent too much time playing Destructomatch on Neopets, and just barely got the place looking un-disasterous in time for a visit from Terry. we had a great visit, and got all caught up on everything.
i'd hardly eaten anything today, and by the time Terry left at nearly 5pm, i was starved. Decided to try my hand at making kushari. it was rather labor-intensive, requiring three burners and the rice cooker, but i got everything done at just about the same time. i fudged some things and improvised others (like not having any onions!), and, well, it WAS edible. :-/ my tomato sauce was too runny, and it lacked the overall kick that i remember from the times i had it in egypt. I really missed having the lemon-vinegar sauce to douse on it, so i whipped up some of that after i cleaned up the mess. i'll continue to play with the spices (pepper might help), and see if i can't get this right.
