for MONTHS now, i've coveted this dress at the consignment shop in town. it's a cute black velvet party dress: the bodice/sleeves are solid black velvet, and the skirt is a floral pattern that's burnt-out (i think that's the term). i couldn't justify the price ($16) as i had no place to wear it, and it's a bit too small (size 16).
i wandered over there today on my lunch break to check out the 75% off sale (winter stuff only), and lo and behold, there's my dress!! it was MEANT to come home with me!! i did the math in my head, and decided $4 was OK to spend on a cute dress that i won't be able to wear til the end of the year.
got two other dresses (jumpers) on clearance as well (they're a tad big, but they should be easily altered), plus a hole-y cardigan in a dark red and a straight linen dress. The linen dress will be PERFECT for my next trip to Cairo, and i think i'll wear the red cardigan tomorrow with a black tank top and black skirt.
oh, she had purple cowboy boots, too. size 7. phooey!

i'm a size 11 WW. shoe shopping with me is NOT usually a pleasant experience, as it's so hard to find things that fit comfortably.
Those cowboy boots were pointy-toed enough that i'm sure a smaller-size foot would be needed to fit them comfortably. i can't do pointy-toed shoes. :-(
